Leadership succession is a matter of timely relevance and substantial consequence. The need to be concerned about the challenges facing today’s leaders may be obvious; but to prepare tomorrow’s leaders and to select them well requires a flexible, proactive process.

The one-day training provides participants with a strategic framework for identifying and developing future leaders. This course reveals tried-and-tested approaches, reflecting some disciplines that have stood the test of time while also presents leading-edge concepts and emerging practices for 21st century succession management. It illustrates how to create and environment that supports the development and of talent and links the firm’s business strategy with the kinds of experiences people need for delivering on a company’s mission.

Utilizing a combination of best/next practices, a synthesis of the latest research, tools, models, and techniques, participants build strategic capabilities to better leverage talent in the enterprise for organizational success.

  • A Strategic Framework for Talent Reviews, Experience Mapping and Succession Management
  • Provide a foundation for understanding the changing role and attention on Succession Management
  • The necessity of integrating Business, HR and Human Capital strategies to gauge talent and organizational capabilities to ensure business continuity
  • Establish a common language, vocabulary, and set of principles for establishing a talent mindset in the organization
  • Ways to collect, analyze, and interpret information needed to accurately monitor Leadership/Business strategy alignment or misalignment
  • Synthesize research, thought leadership, and best/next practices to generate insights and knowledge that companies can use to make more informed business decisions about talent needs, potential, and optimization
  • Methods to define talent needs, discover talent sources, develop talent’s full potential, and deploy talent for maximum impact
  • Create an integrated Talent Blueprint that outlines the strategies and actions necessary for the organization to meet its business objectives and/or mission
  • Communication strategies for implementing a holistic strategic talent management framework that transforms HR into a valued, strategic contributor to business results

About the Instructor
