Chapter Membership Dues Increase Effective March 2

The Board of Trustees of DallasHR Management Association has approved a $10.00 increase to all full price Professional, General and Associate Membership rates bringing the annual rate for DallasHR membership from $115 to $125. The increase will be effective March 2, 2020. This increase of 8% is the first increase since 2014. This increase does not affect payment options such as Student, Retired, or In-Transition rates.

Since 2014 the Chapter has seen a dramatic increase in initiatives to support the membership. During the last two years, the value of annual membership has increased by the implementation of the following initiatives:

  • Recertification Tracking – all members who attend education with recertification available will have the activity codes for SHRM and HRCI automatically added to their personal My Profile page.
  • Education Event expansion – beginning in 2018, the format for our Education Events (aka luncheons) included an expanded format to include two additional hours of education and in 2019, education events alone offered 25 credit hours for recertification. Our 2020 education events in Dallas and Collin Counties will offer 31 hours of recertification with a more flexible schedule to meet the demand of our membership.
  • Chapter Grants – established in 2019, the Chapter Grant Program offered more than $10,000 to members looking to advance their career and eliminated any financial barrier. Grants are offered for all education provided by the Chapter and Conference.
  • HRConnect Open Forum expanded to include other Texas SHRM Chapters. The program added more opportunity to gain feedback and advice from others and the community grew from 2,000 to a community of 5,200 professionals throughout the state.
  • Website Enhancements – the launch of a new Chapter website in 2018 allowed our audience to apply for membership in two steps, quickly renew online, view upcoming and past event attendance, and download duplicate receipts. The new website provided our audience an easier way to navigate through resources online.

I have been a member of DallasHR since 2011 and grown tremendously in my professional development because of all that they have to offer. When I first entered the HR world the HR-101 workshop gave me a great foundation to build upon. Attending the monthly luncheons and HRSWC throughout the years continued to sharpen my skills and education, and the PHR study group prepared me for the exam. I cannot express how important attending the networking events has been in my life. It has not only opened up career opportunities, I have made lifelong friends, and have had the opportunity to volunteer and give back to the community and this awesome organization!
