Dallas Human Resource Management Association, Inc. is dedicated to developing Human Resources Professionals and providing the business community with strategic HR direction. In alignment with our mission, Dallas Human Resource Management Association, Inc. created the
Pursuit of Excellence Award
to recognize Human Resources professionals who have demonstrated commitment to the field of Human Resources through pursuit of academic and professional achievement.
Award
The Dallas Human Resource Management Association will award $1,000.00 annually. This award is designed to assist the recipient with the professional development endeavors of his or her choice.
Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum 3 years Human Resources professional exempt experience.
- Current membership in Dallas Human Resource Management Association.
- No prior
Pursuit of Excellence Award
(or James Wilkins, Jr. Award) in the last two (2) years.
- Current DallasHR and HRSouthwest Conference Board members are ineligible to participate.

Please submit the following:
- A completed award application form.
- A resume of nominee’s education, employment history, and professional/volunteer activities.
- Professional Statement: Please attach a typed, one page (8 1/2" x 11") professional statement. Statement should discuss how nominee has demonstrated commitment and leadership in the Human Resources profession through professional and educational initiatives.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from professional/work-related sources and/or academic officials.

All eligible award applicants will be reviewed by the Pursuit of Excellence Award
Committee. Committee will assess each nominee’s leadership development, contribution, and professional involvement in the HR field. One applicant will be selected to receive the $1,000.00 award annually.
Notification Process
All award recipients will be notified via phone call and letter from the Committee Chairperson. Recipients will be invited to attend the December monthly membership meeting compliments of DallasHR. An official award presentation will be made at the meeting.
