Membership Criteria
To become a member of the DallasHR, you must meet the following membership
requirements:
Professional Member
A Professional Member is an individual that is either:
- Engaged in the human resource profession with at least three years of experience
- Certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute (PHR, SPHR, GPHR)
- A faculty member with three or more years experience holding at least assistant professorial rank in HR
- A full-time Human Resource consultant or attorney
Professional Members are dues-paying members, have full voting rights and may hold any office.
General Members
A General Member is an individual that is engaged in the human resource profession but does not meet the requirements for Professional membership. General Members are dues-paying members, have full voting rights and may not hold elected office.
Associate Members
An Associate Member is an individual that does not meet any of the foregoing categories, but has a bona fide interest in the human resource profession. Associate Members are dues-paying members, have full voting rights and may not hold elected office.

Student Members
A Student Member is an individual that is enrolled at a college or university
as a full time undergraduate (12 or more credit hours) or graduate student (9
or more credit hours), and is not employed or working on a full-time basis in
an exempt HR position.
To apply for Student Membership, please submit:
- The printable application form or your DallasHR membership renewal form.
- Proof of full-time enrollment
- $12 membership fee
Student Members are dues-paying members, but do not have voting rights and may
not hold elected office.
Recent Graduate Members
A Recent Graduate Member is an individual who lives in the Greater Dallas Area, is a current member of a college SHRM chapter or national SHRM member or have graduated with an HR degree or related field.
Recent Graduate members have a unique dues structure to help ease the transition into professional membership:
- First 12 months after graduation* - $12
- Renewal rate for year two - $50
- Renewal rate for year three -
$100
To apply for Recent Graduate Membership, please submit:
- The *printable application form or your DallasHR membership renewal form.
- Proof of official graduation date
- $12 membership fee
*Applications for Recent Graduate Membership must be submitted no later than 90 days after graduation.
If at anytime during this three-year period, membership has expired, this offer will be void and regular membership rates will apply.
Recent Graduate Members are dues-paying members and will be classified as a "General" member.

In-Transition Membership:
New applicants to DallasHR who are unemployed have the opportunity to join for half the membership fee at $50.00. To take advantage of this benefit please submit the following to the DallasHR office for processing:
- Your new member application
- A copy of your resume
Renewals - Current DallasHR members who are unemployed at the time of their membership renewal can extend their membership for *one 12 month term for no charge. To take advantage of this benefit please submit the following to the DallasHR office for processing:

- A copy of your resume
*This members-only benefit is limited to a ONE TIME use and must be activated within 30 days after membership expiration date.

The Dallas Human Resource Management Association, Inc. is an affiliated SHRM
